The Ion is a new putter from a new company, MVP Discs.  They are the first disc to be made out of two different plastics.  The inner portion is made out of a champion or Z type plastic, and the outter rim is a softer rubber-like plastic.

I got two of these 2 weeks ago and I'm liking them so much I'm bumping out the Focus and putting it in my bag instead.  The outer rim's rubber-like plastic really grabs the chains and makes putts stick that would have missed with any other putter.  They glide extremely well..much better than my Focus, Wizards, and Magnets did in the past.  This will be my disc to use for upshots or drives 200' and in.  If you're looking for a new putter, I'd give this one a shot.

If you want to read more about it and see the reviews of all the people who have tried them and are switching to them, go here:

discgolfcenter has them for $13.99 w/ free shipping, which is the cheapest around.

Now that you've had it for a while, what do you think about it now?

I love it more and more everytime I play.  It glides so far for upshots and makes putting seem so effortless.  I've been talking with one of the main retailers for the Ion and he said he'd give me a huge discount if I bought a bunch of them.  I know I want two more for myself.  Want me to get you a few?  Anyone else want some to try as well?

well it turns out the deal isn't as great as I thought it would be, unless I order a ton.  The least I could buy would be 6 and they'd be around $12 each.  Discgolfcenter is only 2 bucks more and you only have to get one, so that'll be your best bet.

There's definitely an adjustment period.  My first week or two I kept missing putts high, since the Ion has such a superior glide to anything else I'd ever used.  PLus like you sadi ti just feels different putting with a premium chamion type plastic.  If anything happens and you end up not liking it, I'll trade you something for it.  Smiley

I have been practicing my putting a lot lately. My Ryhno and Focus have both been removed from my bag. The Ion has become my favorite disc. It glides so nicely and is so predictable. I'd really like to try a firmer plastic, I think that a firmer Ion could replace my Buzzz for mid-range shots and some driving situations.  I'm really enjoying this disc!
